The Main Obligations of the Franchisor

Initial Training

All DoRego's Franchisees and the employees who will be working in the outlet will undergo initial training. This training is a combination of operational training and business skills training and will take place at a location identified by the Franchisor. Although the cost of this training is worked into the initial franchise fee, where the Franchisee and his staff are required to travel to the training venue, the costs for travel, accommodation and living expenses for the Franchisee and his employees are for the Franchisee's account.

Ongoing Training

In addition to the initial training, the Franchisor may, from time to time, offer training courses to all Franchisees and their employees, which is reasonably required. All expenses are to be agreed between the parties and will be borne by the Franchisee.
The training would generally cover such areas of the business where the Franchisor feels there is a need for training, and the Franchisor may have to contract an independent service provider to conduct the training. Obviously the best possible rates will be negotiated on behalf of the Franchisees. Such fee is at the sole discretion of the Franchisor.

Manuals

For the duration of the franchise agreement, the Franchisee is loaned copies of the operations manual and other manuals for use in the DoRego's franchise. These manuals have been prepared as the result of time and energy expended by the Franchisor to assist the new and established Franchisees in their successful operation of the business. The outline of the operations & procedures manual has been set out in Annexure E. The manuals are the property of the Franchisor, and the Franchisee should take steps to ensure that they are maintained in a secure place. Further, the Franchisee is responsible for keeping the manuals current by inserting replacement or additional pages as instructed by the Franchisor from time to time. Upon termination of the franchise agreement, the Franchisee is required to return all manuals to the Franchisor. Along with the actual manuals, the Franchisee is required to return any photocopies or other duplication that may have been made.

Other Support and Features

Upon payment of the initial franchise fee, the Franchisor grants to the Franchisee the non-exclusive rights to use the intellectual property, know-how and system in order to conduct the franchised business, in terms of the franchise agreement and in accordance with procedures laid down by the Franchisor in the operations & procedures manual. The Franchisor further assumes the responsibility for assisting the Franchisee with:
